About the Garden

Eden United was built from something much bigger than football. What started as a small group of church boys kicking a ball around quickly became a brotherhood built on faith, community, and the love of the game.

Before Eden United, we were known as Menchesthair United, a social 5-aside team created by a bunch of Church lads simply to play football together. What began casually soon grew into something with real purpose. Through the friendships formed on and off the pitch, we realised football could be a platform to inspire people, bring communities together, and tell stories that mattered.

As the vision grew, so did the club. The rebrand to Eden United marked a new chapter. One that reflected our ambition, identity, and belief in building something lasting both on and off the field.

Faith remains at the centre of who we are. It shapes the culture of the club, the way we treat people, and the purpose behind everything we do. We believe football is more than results and trophies. It’s about connection, people, and creating opportunities for others.

Today, Eden United competes in the Premier Division of the Auckland Sunday Football Association (ASFA), continuing to grow both competitively and creatively. In 2026, the club proudly participated in the National Cup, the Delivereasy Chatham Cup, for the very first time against Waiheke United. A major milestone in the club’s journey that saw over 120 supporters in attendance backing the team despite the result.

Beyond football, Eden United represents creativity, culture, and community. From matchdays and storytelling content to future ambitions beyond the pitch, we are building a club driven by passion, unity, faith, and the people behind the badge.
